Wines awarded ready to be enjoyed in the “Feira do Viño de Valdeorras’

vinos-premiados-valdeorras This weekend we have the opportunity to taste wines from 22 wineries of the DO Valdeorras in a new edition of the Feira do Viño de Valdeorras in O Barco (Plaza Andrés de Prada). All of them have numerous awards that guarantee its quality and some of them have recently obtained them. Last week, between late June and earlier this month, public awards of the tasting of wines XXVI Cata de Viños Galicia 2014, which granted International Wine Guide and the Decanter World Wine 2014 were made.

In XXVI Cata dos Viños de Galicia tasted a total of 184 samples from 124 wineries. In the award of the “acios” of gold, silver and bronze for designations of origin, in the case of Valdeorras, were for wines from the winery Godeval (gold) and Quinta da Peza (Silver) and A Coroa (bronze).

Catavinum organized the competition International Wine Guide in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain). In the winery of O Barco, Eladio Santalla Paradelo, received a gold medal. 2475 wines from 29 countries were tasted in this contest.

At the end of June public became the awarded prizes Decanter World Wine 2014 to the D.O. Valdeorras. They were 5 medals and two mentions of which most will be present at the fair.

The gold medal was awarded to red wine cask selection 2010 Viñaredo 100% Sousón, elaborated by Bodegas Santa Marta (Vilamartín). This Winery also received the bronze medal for his Viñaredo Godello 2013 and also managed the same prize wineries Mª Teresa Núñez de Vega (Petin) with Bioca Godello selection 2013.
