The match that Wayne Brabender couldn´t play and made him ambassador Valdeorras wines

Last July, Wayne Brabender did his annual visit to A Rúa de Valdeorras village where he is an adopted son. In this visit, he was invited to play a basketball match as part of the Appellation Valdeorras team. This match was going to take place the 1st of September in the city of Lugo.

Weeks later of this agreement he was called for the president of Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB in Spanish), José Luis Sáez, and he invited Brabender to assist to the tribute for the players with more than 150 international matches with Spain and ¡oh, what a coincidence ¡, this event was in the same day, the 1st of September. Wayne told him that he had made a commitment with the appellation, to play the match scheduled on the occasion of the delivery of the 2015 Gallaecia awards.

With this “problem”, Brabender couldn´t play with Appellation Valdeorras team but he thought of a way to fix it. He proposed to the Spanish Federation invite Jose Vicente Solarat, the president of Valdeorras Appellation, to the tribute that would take place in Meliá Castilla Hotel in Madrid. The president was pleased to accept the offer. As a result they could share a Valdeorras wine with a great part of the people who was invited to this tribute.
