Calcareous soils

Carbonaceous outcrops appear in the northern half of the region, in the borough councils of O Barco and Rubiá. They are argillo-calcareous soils, with the advantage that they expand in the winter to take in water and shrink in the summer to retain it. These soils make it possible to obtain high-quality wines with a good aging potential, and the typical characteristics of the variety cultivated are intensely evident.
