Rutas do Viño de Galicia. Winemakers and restaurateurs valdeorras United to promote wines and the region
On 7 and 8 June the region will tip with the days of open doors of the routes do Viño de Galicia
The third edition of the days of open doors of the Rutas do Viño de Galicia, which organises the tourism agency of Galicia (former Turgalicia), will have this year to the denomination of origin Valdeorras dumped in be known with various activities for 7 and 8 June. 11 wineries, three hotels and four restaurants belonging to the wine route of valdeorras have teamed up to not pass up the opportunity to promote themselves inside these days in which the base are free visits to wineries that added them also free transport. There will also be feast of doors open day 7 in the evening, with special sale of wine beside the river Sil, in O Barco and a weekend party with opening of “covas” (Underground cellars) in A Rúa day 8. All programming was presented this week, Thursday 15, in press conference in O Barco. Activities are organized between tourism in Galicia and the collective Somos Valdeorras, portas abertas formed by members of the Valdeorras wine route and guide, wine tourism, Soledad Figueroa. The union between the winemakers and restaurateurs has been vital to be able to implement the full plan. Since February they have held 4 meetings to organize the activities and shaping in the region to an activity that for 3 years organizes tourism in Galicia for five denominations of Galicia. This year in the region of Valdeorras also finances free transport and guide tourism to visit the 11 wineries. The project also has the support of the Council of O Barco and A Rúa, which assist in the Assembly of the two parties. O Barco Tourism Department will provide the stands for the Festival’s open doors as well as give the Malecon promenade in order to celebrate an activity where visitors can sample glasses of wine to 1€ and skewers also at the same price. The City Council of A Rúa will collaborate in Covas finale in the area of a. Coroa (A Rua Vella) with the contribution of a musical group.
VISITS TO WINERIES WITH FREE SHUTTLE
Activities, which is valid for all the weekend, will be the visit to the 11 wineries in the route with a bus funded by tourism in Galicia. The winemakers will open their doors and offer “tapas” and wine per person without charging anything to visitors. The visits will begin Saturday, 7, from 11 in the morning until the 14:30 noon, thus increasing the initial offer sued since the Organization of the open doors. Visitors will have the opportunity to know the wineries by scrolling through your account to any of the participating wineries within the marked times. The other option is to take the bus to morning visited Godeval, O Cepado, or Casal, Roandi and Virxe de Galir. Then stop to eat and take advantage of the special menus (25€ / person) in the associated restaurants: Meson Museum, Pazo do Castro, Piquiño and Paladium. The afternoon session will be from 18:00 to 19:45 hours, and the route bus visit Ruchel, Avelina D´Berna. OPEN DOORS PARTY AND FINALE IN COVAS
The programme of activities is complete with accommodation at special rates in Hotel Pazo do Castro (O Barco) and Palladium (Vilamartín) and the house of rural tourism space do Sil (Vilela-A Rua). Nor will miss two festivals, one open house to be held on Saturday, day 7, from 20:30 hours in the Paseo del Malecón of O Barco. There visitors can taste wines from the 11 wineries at a special price of 1€/cup while they listen to music, enjoy snacks prepared by the restaurants of the route also €1 each and enjoying the views of the river Sil. The other party will be held on Sunday at noon in the of a Rúa A Coroa. There will be open 4 “covas” (Underground cellars) to visit and once again taste the wines accompanied by tapas of Octopus that each visitor can purchase at a special price.
