Málaga and Madrid to host several promotional events focused on Valdeorras wines
Valdeorras wines will be the focus of a number of promotional events that will take place on the Costa del Sol this November. Specifically, on Monday 19 November the city of Málaga will host a presentation of white and red wines covered by our designation of origin, complemented by a wine tasting experience with commentary and a meal paired with a selection of wines. This event, which will be held in a local restaurant, is expected to attract over 40 professionals.
For the following day, Tuesday 20 November, information sessions on Valdeorras wines have been scheduled in two hotel management schools in Málaga. Each school will also host a tasting experience with commentary on the products.
‘Promoting a greater knowledge of our wines in the south of Spain, where our product is perhaps less widely distributed, had been one of the matters pending for our designation of origin for quite some time,’ Mr. José Luis García Pando, chairman of the Regulatory Council, said. He expressed his belief that these promotional events will help ‘increase awareness of our wines in Andalusia’.
Additionally, the plenary sitting approved that Valdeorras wines should be featured at the London Wine Fair an in the Vinexpo Fair in Bordeaux
Other promotional actions
The events in Malaga are not the only promotional actions that the Valdeorras Designation of Origin Regulatory Council will be organising in November. Madrid will also be hosting a Valdeorras wine showroom with the participation of 20 wineries from the region. The showroom will take place in the ABC Serrano shopping centre from 15:30 to 20:30 on 12 November and will be intended mainly for potential end consumers.
Additionally, the plenary sitting approved today that Valdeorras wines should be featured at the London Wine Fair that will be held in the British capital in May 2019. Also in May, a representation of Valdeorras wines will be present at the Vinexpo Fair in Bordeaux, one of the most important wine fairs in Europe.
