Bottled in magnum format wines are increasing their demand in the market. There are 15 wineries that now produce some of its brands in this type of packaging in Valdeorras. All of them coincide in highlighting that the wine gains in quality and that its evolution is better in a liter bottle and a half. The technical director of the regulatory Council of Valdeorras, Jorge Mazaira, offers explanation technical of what happens in this type of packaging “there is a greater proportion of wine for a similar oxygen level, in the neck of the bottle is stored the same amount as one of 0.75 cl. He continues telling that this situation causes “that evolution is slower in the liter and half, making it a good format for storage”.

In addition to the “premature aging, in case that happens, is slower”. Once known the technical explanations, the winemakers who produced in this format also offered others who endorse its decision. Currently have wineries bottled magnum in any of its brands: A Coroa, Alan of Val, A Pinguela, Aristegui, D´Berna, Germán Rodríguez Prada, Godeval, O Casal, Rafael Palacios, Roandi, Sampoyolo, Valdesil, Viñaredo, Viña Somoza and Virxe de Galir. We are 4 examples of what is being done today in the region of Valdeorras.

The same objective pursued with the magnum Escada Lembranzas elaborated with garnacha tintorera vintage 2013.
